About

I’m Kate Teves (pronounced TAY-viss).

I am a writer and illustrator in South Florida. I create my own original projects for kids, and increasingly for adults. Fiction, poetry, some essays.

Every day of my youth was spent putzing around a farm in Central New York, talking to myself. I now live in Boca Raton with my very dear husband Christoph who tolerates my now fully-grown, raging solipsism.

I have an MA in cultural anthropology from Cornell University, and a BA from Carleton College. In 2018, after twenty years spent working in academia, advertising, and television, I suddenly began illustrating. It came out of nowhere.

I have no kids, no pets, no plants, and no cooking talent, and this makes people very uncomfortable.
